Regan Smith is getting a new man atop the pit box in 2015.
In a Twitlonger post, Randy Pemberton, a former crew chief on the NASCAR level, revealed that his brother, Ryan Pemberton, will no longer assume the duties of crew chief for the JR Motorsports No. 7 team starting in 2015.
“When the checkered flag falls on the Nationwide race at Miami Homested on Saturday afternoon, long time crew chief and director of competition for JR Motorports and my brother Ryan Pemberton will step down off the box, potentially for the final time,” the tweet begins.
Pemberton then went on to describe his brother’s career as a crew chief.
Ryan Pemberton is expected to stay at JR Motorsports, focusing on overseeing the competition department in 2015 in his role of director of competition.
Smith, meanwhile, is set to begin his third season at JR Motorsports next year chasing for the championship after finishing third in points in 2013, before finishing second to teammate Chase Elliott this year.
It’s currently unknown who will step up to replace Pemberton atop Smith’s pit box in 2015.
