Tommy Milner Joins DXDT Racing for Long Beach

DXDT Racing announced Wednesday (March 19) that Tommy Milner will join the team for April’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. He will partner up with Robert Wickens, who will also debut with the team there.

“I’m really excited to join DXDT and Robert at Long Beach,” Milner stated in a press release. “This event presents a perfect combination of opportunities: reuniting with DXDT [Racing], supporting Rob [Wickens] in his Corvette debut, and returning
to the Long Beach track.”

In addition, Wickens’ debut with the team will also mean the debut of a new hand control system designed by Bosch. That system was unveiled to the general public at Indianapolis back in September.

“So far, so good. I am acclimating quickly to the Corvette Z06 GT3.R., it’s a great race car,” Wickens said. “The Bosch system is delivering excellent performance. I’ve got a dream team behind me with Bosch, GM, Pratt & Miller and of course everyone David Askew and everyone at DXDT Racing, and now an outstanding co-driver, I couldn’t be more excited to race at Long Beach again.”

Normally, such a move would not be possible. Milner already has a full-time ride for Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports.

However, Long Beach is a race for the GTP and GTD classes only. With the GTD Pro class being off for the weekend, Milner has the time to race.

As he mentioned above, Milner has previously raced with the team. That was last year in Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS. He came in along with Alec Udell to drive the team’s Pro entry starting at Circuit of the Americas in May. In nine starts with the team, he and Udell scored eight consecutive class victories, seven of those being overall victories. The duo ended up second in Pro points.

Milner’s start to 2025 hasn’t necessarily been the best in GTD Pro. He is currently eighth in points with teammates Nicky Catsburg and Nico Varrone with finishes of seventh and ninth.

So far in their first season in WeatherTech, the team struggled in Daytona, but had a great run at Sebring. Charlie Eastwood was running in fourth in the closing laps when a bolt sheared off the suspension. That resulted in Eastwood having to limp the car to an eighth-place finish.
