Mike Wallace Not Running Daytona 500 for MBM After All

Mike Wallace will not attempt the 2025 Daytona 500 for MBM Motorsports, MBM confirmed on social media Jan. 13.

According to MBM, Wallace was not deemed eligible by NASCAR to compete in the NASCAR Cup Series’ season-opening race due to “lack of recent races in major professional motorsports.”

The team said it’s still looking to put together sponsorship and a driver to run the Daytona 500 with its No. 66.

Wallace last ran a Cup race in 2015 and competed in a national series event in 2020 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

He has 197 career Cup starts, 497 in the Xfinity Series and 115 in the Truck Series.

Oops, can’t make fun of Mikey, so Mike Wallace is the greatest racer of all time and should be in the Hall of Fame.

Echo

I thought that was ridiculous when first announced anyway. Created an even more dangerous situation for everyone else.
