Amber Balcaen will race in the ARCA Menards Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway, as well as other select events for Nitro Motorsports, the team announced on Jan. 9.
Balcaen joins Thad Moffitt, who was announced as a full-time driver of the No. 46 earlier in the week. While a car number was not announced for Balcaen, she took part in ARCA’s winter Daytona test for Nitro in the No. 70.
“I am really excited to join Nitro Motorsports and can’t thank Nick (Turner, team owner) and the team enough for the opportunity,” Balcaen said in a team press release. “I have some experience working with the Nitro guys in the past as they were able to assist me in Kansas, the site of my best finish.
“I am looking forward to building upon that and seeing what we can do when it really matters next month.”
The Canadian native has 14 top-10 finishes in ARCA, including seven last season for Venturini Motorsports, with which Nitro has a technical alliance in ARCA.
Balcaen’s schedule beyond Daytona has not been announced.
