Trackhouse Racing announced Thursday morning (Dec. 12) that they will collaborate with TF Sport to field the No. 91 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R in January’s Rolex 24 at Daytona in the GTD Pro class. The effort, which is known as Trackhouse by TF Sport, will be Trackhouse’s first foray into IMSA.
In the car will be a talented group of drivers. Trackhouse’s own Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch will be in the car, along with INDYCAR star Scott McLaughlin and veteran racer Ben Keating.
“Participating in the Rolex 24 has been a dream since the inception of Trackhouse Racing,” stated Trackhouse Racing co-owner Justin Marks. “We wanted to make sure we could enter with a top-notch partner in Chevrolet and TF Sport as well as a driver lineup that could compete for the victory. We feel like this group we have put together can compete for the trophy.”
“This is a fantastic way to kick off our 2025 racing program with Corvette Racing,” TF Sport owner Tom Ferrier said. “This team is a combination of sports car, INDYCAR and NASCAR all joining together for a common goal which is to win the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, it is such a great event and we cannot wait to get started with this talented team.”
Van Gisbergen is coming off a year in which he won three races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and came within a whisker of winning in the NASCAR Cup Series at Watkins Glen. In IMSA, he has seven career starts, all in the GTD class. His best finish is a second in class for Alex Job Racing at Daytona in 2015. He has not competed at Daytona since 2020.
Zilisch took the world by storm in 2024. He made his WeatherTech debut in the Rolex 24 at Daytona last year for Era Motorsport, then proceeded to play a pivotal role in their class victory. An additional win followed at Sebring, along with podiums at Indianapolis and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Outside of IMSA, Zilisch won on debut in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and impressed on debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, overcoming a broken trackbar to finish fourth. He also won in the zMAX CARS Tour and in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup.
McLaughlin has four career IMSA starts, all of which coming in the LMP2 class for Tower Motorsports. He has one career victory, that coming in the 2023 Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring. He has never raced a GT3 car.
The Trackhouse by TF Sport deal is Keating’s second car for the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Previously, he was announced as the fourth driver for PR1/Mathaisen Motorsports’ effort in the LMP2 class.
IMSA has rules that allow drivers to compete in multiple classes at Daytona. If they satisfy minimum drive-time regulations in both classes, then they would earn points in both.
Keating has done this four out of the last five years at Daytona. This year, he raced for United Autosports in the LMP2 class in his regular ride, and drove for JDC-Miller MotorSports in their Porsche 963 in the GTP class. He ended up with sixth-place finishes in both classes.
Keating previously raced full-time in the WEC for TF Sport from 2021-2022. In 12 starts in the GTE-Am class, Keating had three victories and seven podium finishes. He won the 2022 GTE-Am championship with teammate Marco Sorensen in an Aston Martin.
TF Sport has a decent amount of experience with the Corvette. The team ran two Corvettes full-time in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s LMGT3 class in 2024.
Neither team had all that great of a year. The No. 81 Corvette of Rui Andrade, Charlie Eastwood and Tom van Rompuy had the better year, finishing 10th in points while the No. 82 Corvette of Sebastien Baud, Daniel Juncadella and Hiroshi Koizumi were 14th in points. The best race for both teams was the season finale in Bahrain last month, where the No. 81 finished second and the No. 82 was third.
