The Pit Straight: Pondering the Politics of Penalties

Sunday’s (Dec. 1) Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix was hampered by multiple penalties that were deemed by many to be excessive, unusual or simply uncalled for.

These questionable calls, for some, brought the state of officiating in F1 into question. Could this be linked to recent drama unfolding within the FIA, which oversees F1? Is the series’ system of rotating stewards at each race doing more harm than it’s preventing?

Also, what’s the deal with Esteban Ocon?

Michael Finley and Wyatt Watson return to the show to tackle these questions.
