On this episode of Bringing the Heat with Bryan Nolen, Dalton Hopkins interviews NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Blaine Perkins about his reaction to the Kevin Harvick throwback he had for the race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Plus, Perkins gave his thoughts on his first season with RSS Racing, his growth in 2024 and his future plans. (Editor’s note: Perkins was sponsored at Las Vegas and at Homestead-Miami Speedway by VIVID EV, a company that has sponsored Frontstretch in the past. The company featured Frontstretch’s logo on Perkins’ No. 29 as part of the sponsorship.)
Michael Massie then joins Nolen to react to Conner Jones‘ one-race suspension after he wrecked Matt Mills at Homestead last weekend in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Then, they discuss Bootie Barker being replaced by Charles Denike as the crew chief for Bubba Wallace in the NASCAR Cup Series 2025.
Nolen and Massie assess the chances of the NASCAR playoff drivers ahead of the final race before the championship. They also speculate on who NASCAR wants to see fight for the title at Phoenix Raceway.
Chandler Smith and his future are the focus of the Soundbite of the Week segment. After hearing Smith’s post-race comments about his lack of future plans, Nolen and Massie talk about the ongoing struggle between sponsorship and talent in top-tier rides at the Xfinity and Truck levels in NASCAR.
The show wraps up with Massie giving some thoughts on NASCAR possibly racing in the Middle East and what that could look like. Nolen then talks about how the format of these playoffs has resulted in many stars missing out at racing for a championship.
