Christopher Bell won the pole for the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Darlington Raceway Saturday (Aug. 31), posting a quick lap of 164.865 mph in qualifying.
It’s Bell’s 13th pole in Xfinity and first of this year. Bell won at New Hampshire Motor Speedway earlier this season.
Bell’s Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Sheldon Creed will join him on the front row. Sam Mayer starts third, AJ Allmendinger is fourth and Chandler Smith rounds out the top five.
Austin Hill begins sixth, while Brandon Jones is seventh. Riley Herbst, Parker Retzlaff and Parker Kligerman complete the top 10 in the lineup.
Several cars got Darlington stripes, including Matt DiBenedetto and Jesse Love. Dawson Cram also hit the wall in his lap and was the lone DNQ.
