Through The Gears: Darlington Best Bets

Harrison Burton‘s 100-1 Daytona International Speedway victory last week stole it from our 16-1 Kyle Busch ticket. Time to rebound at Darlington Raceway this weekend in crown jewel fashion for the Cook Out Southern 500.

When preparing for this NASCAR Cup Series race, there are not many tracks that are similar to The Lady in Black. It’s important to note how drivers fared in at this track earlier this season, while keeping in mind the 100-mile difference between the two events.

With this being the final race of the regular season there will be playoff bubble drivers trying to lock themselves in to the NASCAR playoffs. But, do not forget about the race for the regular season championship as well.

Denny Hamlin, who used to be in that conversation before the massive penalty from Bristol Motor Speedway, is one of the favorites to win this one at 7-1. I think the No. 11 team will be the top contender in this one.

Chase Elliott is only 18 points away from the regular season championship. At 20-1 for him to win, that is my favorite play of the week. Be aware of the closing line value Elliott, Christopher Bell and Chris Buescher all bring to the table pre practice and qualifying!

Lastly, for the bubble drivers, one has the better stats at this track in his last four starts, which includes four straight top-10 finishes. He is the driver I’d pick to outperform the others and get in to the playoffs.
