Martin Truex Jr. Takes Cup Pole At Homestead

Toyota has looked very impressive all season in NASCAR Cup Series qualifying on 1.5-mile tracks and Saturday’s (Oct. 21) session at Homestead-Miami Speedway was no different.

When the green flag flies for tomorrow’s 4EVER 400 presented by Mobil 1, it’ll be Martin Truex, Jr. on the pole, with Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick in second and third.

Truex had an average speed of 167.411 mph en route to his second pole of the season.

The pole could be another step in the right direction for Truex, who’s inarguably had a tough playoff run thus far, but has advanced to the Round of 8.

Brad Keselowski and Kyle Larson round out the top five. Larson was able to pick up the win last week at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to be the first to advance to the Championship 4. He’s also the defending winner of this race.

Austin Dillon turned in a great performance and will start sixth, followed by William Byron, Ross Chastain, Ty Gibbs and Ryan Blaney rounding out the top 10.

The only car unable to make a lap in the session was that of Joey Logano, who suffered a crash in practice. He will go to a backup car.

Logano will start shotgun on the field Sunday.

The 4EVER 400 from Homestead-Miami Speedway begins tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. ET. Coverage can be found on NBC, MRN and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.

Should have inspected bubba’s car right then in front of the garage. Bubba didn’t just evolve to be running with those top ten in one year.
