Hendrick Motorsports is adding two races to its 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule, with one race a piece for drivers Boris Said and Rajah Caruth. The team announced Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 26) that Said will pilot the No. 17 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL on Oct. 7, while Caruth will drive for the team at Phoenix Raceway on Nov. 4, in the series season finale.
The veteran Said is known for his road racing background, with wins in some of the most prestigious endurance races in the world. Said has recorded victories in the 12 Hours of Sebring, 24 Hours of Daytona, and 24 Hours of Nurburgring, among others. Said also has one lone Xfinity Series win, coming at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve back in 2010.
As for Caruth, the 21-year-old is in the middle of his first full time season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, with three top 10s so far on the season, including sixth place results at Darlington Raceway and Bristol Motor Speedway. Across 15 previous Xfinity Series starts, Caruth has a best career finish of 12th at Martinsville Raceway back in 2022.
“It’s an honor. Thank you Mr. H! See you at Phoenix Raceway.,” Caruth tweeted in response to the announcement.
The Drive for the Cure 250 Presented by BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina at the ROVAL is set to get under way at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 7. Catch Said and the rest of the Xfinity Series live on NBC, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

I’ll be shocked if the other NASCAR teams don’t protest Said being allowed to race. With his unbelievable win record in NASCAR he will probably lap the field at least 5 times.
