Jonathan Davenport Running Bristol Dirt for Kaulig

Dirt racing star Jonathan Davenport will drive the No. 13 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series’ dirt race at Bristol Motor Speedway, the team announced March 9.

Should he qualify, Davenport will be making his Cup debut in the race.

His No. 13 will be sponsored by Nutrien Ag Solutions.

“Jonathan Davenport is an all-time favorite of mine because of how well he has done in his dirt racing career,” Kaulig President Chris Rice said in a release. “I’m super excited to have his side of dirt racing intermix with NASCAR and see what he can do in one of our Kaulig Racing Chevrolets. He’s a great guy, a great racer and we’re looking forward to making our relationship with Nutrien Ag Solutions deeper.”

Davenport is a highly successful dirt racer, garnering 22 wins in super dirt late models in 2022. He also won on dirt at Bristol in the World of Outlaws last year.

“This is literally a dream come true for me,” Davenport added. “I’ll get to race against the best racecar drivers in the world and will get to do it at one of my favorite tracks. I have a lot to learn but have two great teammates in AJ [Allmendinger] and Justin [Haley] to learn from. We started working on this last October during the ROVAL weekend in Charlotte and to see it come to fruition is absolutely amazing.”

The No. 13 has previously been entered by Kaulig for its NASCAR Xfinity Series driver, Chandler Smith.
