James Buescher Driving for Niece Motorsports at Daytona

James Buescher returns to Daytona International Speedway this weekend, piloting the No. 44 truck for Niece Motorsports, Niece announced Feb. 9.

Buescher will be sponsored by GR Energy Services and FHE.

He has one top 10 at Daytona in 2011 in the series, leading 55 of the 103 laps. He has also started top five in four of his five starts.

Buescher has also won at Daytona in the Xfinity Series.

He became a realtor in his home state of Texas for many years before breaking a multi-year hiatus from NASCAR last fall with a 15th-place finish for Niece at Texas Motor Speedway.

“Being away from the sport for over five years heading to Texas last fall, I went in with realistic expectations,” Buescher said in a team release. “I was able to knock the rust off and accomplish my goals. I am looking forward to kicking the season off with a great team like Niece Motorsports, and if all goes well, we’ll find ourselves fighting for the checkered flag with our FHE, GR Energy Services Chevy Silverado.”

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns to Daytona on Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
