Kyle Larson Quickest in Richmond Practice; Rain Cancels Second

Kyle Larson was quickest in the first and only Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice on Friday (May 12), turning a 22.185-second lap in his No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet.

Denny Hamlin, Chris Buescher, Kyle Busch and David Ragan rounded out the top five speeds, with Daniel Suarez, Martin Truex Jr., Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano completing the top 10.


Kyle Busch, the defending winner of the event, had the best 10-consecutive lap average, with Harvick, Buescher, Erik Jones and Ryan Blaney completing the top five on that list.

Final practice was canceled due to rain.

Qualifying for the Toyota Owners 400 is scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m. ET on FS1.
