Daniel Hemric is returning to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Young’s Motorsports announced Wednesday (May 16) that Hemric will drive the team’s No. 20 truck when the series heads to Charlotte Motor Speedway this Friday, May 18.
“I am really excited to have Daniel in our truck this week at Charlotte,” team president Tyler Young said in a team statement. “He has had a lot of success in the past in the Truck Series.
“As part of our partnership with Team Dillon, Over Kill Motorsports will be featured on our truck. I met Mitch [Cleary] last year and I am glad we have this opportunity to work together. I’m looking forward to a great weekend at Charlotte.”
The 27-year-old Kannapolis, N.C., native currently competes full-time in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, driving the No. 21 for Richard Childress Racing. He also made his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series debut earlier this year for RCR.
Hemric made his CWTS debut in 2013 at Martinsville Speedway, since compiling 15 top fives and 30 top 10s during his full-time Truck Series stints in 2015 and 2016.
“It’s always good to have an opportunity to race at home,” said Hemric. “I’m really looking forward to this one with Young’s Motorsports and my first time back in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series since the end of 2016. We will have a lot of family and friends in attendance cheering on our Over Kill Motorsports No. 20 Chevy Silverado this weekend, and I can’t wait to go have some fun.”
