The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will compete at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend for the opening race of the Round of 12 in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
As of Monday, there are 40 cars entered, meaning all will make the field, barring any entry list updates.
Alex Bowman returns behind the wheel of the No. 88 this weekend for the fifth time this season in a substitute role for Dale Earnhardt Jr. The last time the Sprint Cup Series competed at a 1.5-mile track at Chicagoland, he scored his best finish of the year as he came home 10th.
Race weekend begins on Thursday with opening practice at 1:30 p.m. followed by qualifying at 7:20 p.m. (all times ET). Friday will feature two practice sessions, the first at 3:30 p.m. and final at 6:30 p.m. The Bank of America 500 will take place on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. on NBC.
