With the recent laser inspection issues the past few weeks, NASCAR has yet again handed down multiple infractions to teams across the Sprint Cup and XFINITY series.
Wednesday’s penalty listing for the Sprint Cup Series included a first warning issued to Denny Hamlin‘s Joe Gibbs Racing team, along with teammate Kyle Busch‘s fourth written warning for his No. 18 M&M’s team. The No. 31 of Ryan Newman and No. 78 of Martin Truex, Jr. were also listed as having written warnings. All failed the laser inspection station of inspection twice during pre-race inspections.
The No. 22 Penske Racing Ford of Joey Logano was also issued a written warning for failing the laser inspection twice during pre-qualifying inspection.
The NASCAR XFINITYÂ Series also had two teams fail laser inspection in the form of the No. 3 of Ty Dillon, and the No. 93 of David Starr. Both were issued written warnings after failing twice in pre-race inspection.
Also listed was Ryan Southall. Listed in the report as a crew member, Southall will be indefinitely suspended due a violation of the substance abuse policy in the NASCAR rule book.
