Roush Fenway Racing re-signed sponsor Fastenal to a multi-year deal on Wednesday, SIRIUS XM NASCAR Radio reported on Facebook.
The industrial supply company will return to the No. 17 Ford Fusion driven by Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. for 2017 and beyond, increasing the number of races it serves as the primary sponsor of the car. Fastenal is currently in its second season backing the No. 17; it served as a sponsor for the No. 99 of Carl Edwards for three seasons prior to moving to Stenhouse in 2015.
“We are really excited to announce that Fastenal will remain the anchor partner of the No. 17 team for years to come,” Stenhouse Jr. said.
RFR president Steve Newmark echoed that sentiment. “To have a company the caliber of Fastenal recognize the long-term value of a partnership with Roush Fenway, Ricky and the No. 17 team is gratifying for our entire organization,” he said.
Stenhouse has been racing in the Sprint Cup Series full-time since 2013. He currently sits 19th in points, with one top-5 finish and two top 10s through 12 races. No word was given as to the driver’s future with the team beyond the 2016 season.
