Canadian youngster Cameron Hayley topped the charts for the sole NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice session for Friday’s Lucas Oil 150.
Hayley’s top speed was 137.477 mph, besting Erik Jones and Brandon Jones in the session.
2015 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East champion William Byron, looking to make his series debut Friday, was fourth fastest, followed by two-time defending champion Matt Crafton. Sixth in the session was Daniel Suarez, followed by Tyler Reddick, Spencer Gallagher, Cole Custer and John Wes Townley.
All 36 trucks took time in the session. The session was stopped several times for spins; Akinori Ogata, Cassie Gannis and Ray Black Jr. all had trouble in the session, bringing out the caution flag.
Qualifying for the Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway is at 12:45 p.m. local time on Friday.
