It’s been a mystery as to who was going to drive the No. 50 MAKE Motorsports entry this weekend at Michigan International Speedway. However, on Thursday afternoon the team announced via its Twitter page that 24-year-old Tyler Tanner will drive the team’s No. 50 entry in this weekend’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Careers for Veterans 200.
Tanner has made seven career Truck Series starts, including five in the 2015 season. His five starts have all come driving for MB Motorsports, earning a best finish of 15th at Kansas Speedway this spring.
The team has used driver Ryan Ellis for several races this season but Ellis is in Mid-Ohio for the NASCAR Xfinity Series race. Ellis will practice and qualify the No. 01 Chevrolet for JD Motorsports in place of Landon Cassill.
The No. 50 truck currently sits 26th in the Truck Series owner points standings. The team will have Splash Universe Water Park Resorts as sponsor on both their trucks this weekend, with Travis Kvapil serving as Tanner’s teammate in the No. 1.
