DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Blake Koch will contest the remainder of the 2011 season with MacDonald Motorsports, as backer DayStar re-upped for the remainder of the season after initially being slated for 10 races, the driver informed Frontstretch on Thursday (June 30).
The growing sponsorship will also see Koch contest a full 2012 Nationwide Series schedule with Daystar backing, though no details are currently available on whether Koch will remain with MacDonald for next year.
“We…signed a multi-year, long-term agreement [with Daystar] to do whatever it takes to keep me in the race car and keep things going strong” said Koch of the new arrangement.
“The big thing is to keep putting in the effort to spread the message of Jesus Christ. That is a big goal for us, [in fact] the main goal.”
No word on how this affects Donnie Neuenberger and his previously announced deal to drive the No. 81 car with Eagle Convenience Stores sponsorship; Neuenberger was scheduled at the start of the year to race both at Michigan and this weekend at Daytona in the No. 81.
