Rick Ware Racing Mechanic Stephen Masch Passes Away

Rick Ware Racing mechanic Stephen “Dirt” Masch, who was injured in an auto accident on March 11, lost his battle against the head and spinal cord injuries sustained in that crash this evening. Just 29 years old, he was the passenger in the deadly wreck that also took the life of Dean Shaut when the latter lost control of his vehicle in a non-work related accident in Thomasville, N.C. Masch was an independent contract mechanic for the RWR Nationwide No. 15 team driven by rookie Timmy Hill.

SunTrust Bank has started a fund for the families of these two men. Those interested in donating to the fund are encouraged to contact SunTrust at (704) 664-2067 or send checks directly to the bank at 232 Williamson Road, Mooresville, NC 28117 FBO of the Stephen Masch/Dean Shaut Fund.
