Contrary to reports on SceneDaily and other internet sites, at this timeĀ David Starr is still employed by Red Horse Racing and has not been released from the team. The Craftsman Truck Series team, which is co-owned by Jeff Hammond and Tom DeLoach, is currently searching for sponsorship for Starr and their team. If a sponsor is not found, chances are that Starr will not return to the No. 11 Toyota Tundra.
Starr took his Toyota to victory lane early in the season at Martinsville and collected 12 top 10s and six top fives on his way to a fourth-place finish in the final points standings – his best finish in his nine-year NASCAR CTS career. Starr has earned a total of five poles and four victories, and has finished in the top 10 in points four times.
