Happiness Is… Drama, Not Fighting & Intelligence

Happiness Is… Drama, Not Fighting & Intelligence

One race to go until the Cup playoffs begin. That seems like a mismatched sentence, putting together autosport and hockey, but alas, that’s how things are now.  This whole season has seemed like one big Chase storyline, beginning with Dale Earnhardt, Jr.’s Daytona 500.  Almost immediately after he crossed the finish line, it felt like everyone could breathe easy because he was locked into the Chase. The Chase, the Chase, the Chase.  Each race with a new winner conceded to ... Read More »

Truckin’ Thursdays: Divorce Papers – Making Sense of Turner Scott Motorsports

To say it’s been a tumultuous 24 hours for anyone connected to Steve Turner and Harry Scott’s NASCAR Truck program is putting it mildly. Early Wednesday afternoon, Motorsport.com’s Lee Spencer reported Turner Scott Motorsports had shut down all three of its Truck Series teams effective immediately. According to Spencer’s report, crew chief Mike Shelton delivered the news around 3 p.m. ET. Around that same time, Troy Turnage, team engineer for the No. 31 truck driven by Ben Kennedy, tweeted, “Boom ... Read More »

Going By the Numbers: Toyota’s NASCAR Streak Of Epic Proportions

By now you’ve heard the story, even if you don’t follow the series on a scrutinizing level: Toyota’s Tundras are unbeatable in the Camping World Truck Series. The manufacturer has been on point in 2014 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, setting a blazing pace in the season’s first 10 races. So far, Toyota is 10 for 10 in race wins, losing only if you somehow count poles or heat races at Eldora — which, why would you? It’s ... Read More »

Truckin’ Thursdays: Memorable Series Moments Part III

Once again this weekend, the Camping World Truck Series sits idle while the Nationwide Series heads off to Iowa as the only of NASCAR’s top three series racing this weekend.
