Ryan Blaney, Johnny Sauter Pace Truck Practices at Chicagoland

The Camping World Truck Series rolled into the windy city and the Chicagoland Speedway on Thursday for practices leading up to tomorrow night’s Lucas Oil 225 – and if Thursday is any indication, Ryan Blaney and Johnny Sauter will be tough to beat come Friday.

Blaney, who currently sits third in the Camping World Truck Series standings, paced the way in opening practice with a speed of 175.234 mph. He was followed by Jeb Burton, Erik Jones, Darrell Wallace, Jr. and Sauter.

Sauter, the points leader, turned it around for the second practice and topped the chart with a lap of 176.540 mph in his No.98 Nextant/Curb Records Toyota. Brennan Newberry, Burton, Austin Dillon and Wallace were in close pursuit.

The trucks will return to the track tomorrow afternoon for qualifying at 3:10 p.m. ET, followed up by the Lucas Oil 225 at 8:49 p.m. ET. Both qualifying and the race can be seen on FOX Sports 1.
