Hobby Stock awards new to Karl Chevrolet IMCA program

Already synonymous with IMCA’s Northern SportMod division, Karl Chevrolet expands its contingency award program this season to include IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Drivers in both classes competing exclusively with a 602 crate engine and winning a track championship in 2012 will receive a $50 gift card from the Ankeny, Iowa, auto dealer and crate engine retailer. IMCA Stock, Hobby, SportMod drivers earn TCI awards

TCI Automotive will give $3,300 in contingency awards to drivers in four IMCA divisions this season. The Ashland, Miss., manufacturer will give product certificates valued at $300, $250, $125, $100 and $50, respectively, to top five drivers in national standings for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Smiley’s Racing Chassis Southern SportMods. New sponsor Competition Products gives awards for IMCA special series

Competition Products has signed on as a new sponsor for IMCA special events this season. Designated place finishers in all eight sanctioned divisions at a total of 80 specials will receive $50 product certificates from the high performance engine parts supplier. The IMCA Modified winner goes home with $2,000 at Thunder Hill Speedway’s inaugural Fools Day Meltdown special this Saturday and Sunday, March 31-April 1. A minimum of $150 will be paid to start the main event, a qualifier for the 2012 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.
