The first race on the card for the night was 20 Laps for the Sportsman Series. Michael Adams and Ryan Robertson led the field to Green. Adams got away on the start with Robertson right behind. Taylor Branch and Derek Stoltz were charging hard through the field. Coming to the White Flag Robertson got Adams loose and moved to the lead. Robertson took his second win of the year over Adams in second and Taylor Branch in third.

The Modifieds rolled out for 25 Laps. Jason Myers took the pole with Tim Brown on the outside. Myers took the lead off turn one. Myers held a slim lead over Brown and Lee Jeffreys. On the second restart Myers’ car came in and he pulled away over Brown and Jeffreys to take the win. Tim Brown held on for second and Lee Jeffreys in third. It was Myers’ 16th win at the Stadium and tied him with his Uncle Bobby Myers.

The feature event of the evening was the Stadium Stock 50 Lapper. The Stadium Stocks qualified for this race. AJ Sanders took the Pole and started second after the redraw. Daniel Yates shared the front row with Sanders. Yates took the lead off turn two over Jason Keaton. On the first restart Sanders got by Keaton for second then by Yates for the lead on Lap 10. At half way Sanders led Yates and Andrew Sanders. Yates and Andrew Sanders slid through the infield and rejoined the back of the field. The field used the “Cone” to choose the restart line up. AJ Sanders took the inside and Randy Lineberry moved to the outside. AJ Quakenbush over took Lineberry for second place. Sanders pulled away for the win over Quakenbush in second and Lineberry in third.

The Sportsman Series pulled back out for their second 20 lapper. After the redraw of 16 Chad Brooks and Steven Truell were on the front row. Brooks led Zack Clifton off turn two. On Lap 4 Kenny Bost came back on to the track directly into the lead cars, triggering a four car wreck off turn four. The cars of Brooks and Truell were totaled. John Holleman and Derek Stoltz also had major damage. Brooks was helped from his car by track EMS. After the lengthy clean up Clifton led Wayne Hill and Justin Taylor. The top three would battle for the next 15 Laps to the finish. Zack Clifton took his first win of the year over Hill in second and Taylor in third.

The Modifieds returned for 25 Laps. After the invert of 14 Robert Jeffreys and Jr Miller lead the field to Green. Miller got away off turn 2 over Jeffreys and Ronnie Clifton. Miller maintained a slim lead over Jeffreys and Spencer Davis. At the next caution Tony Black moved past Davis for third. Miller pulled away from Jeffreys and Black to take his record 73rd win at Bowman Gray. Robert Jeffreys was second and Tony Black finished third.

The final event of the night was 20 Laps for the Street Stocks. KJ Stimpson and Reggie Doub led the field to the green flag. A hard crash by Taylor Robbins and Tim Vaden on Lap 1 slowed the field. Stimpson led Doub on the restart and for the next 8 Laps. Doub got under Stimpson and took the lead. Doub led the next 12 laps to take the win. Billy Gregg took second with Chase Hunt in third. In Victory Lane Reggie Doub dedicated the win to his son Austin Doub who passed away in November. Austin was a fixture at Bowman Gray and other tacks. Doub also announced his retirement from racing.

Pit Notes: On the schedule next week is a 100 Lap Modified “Cone” Race, a pair of 20 lap Sportsman Races, 20 Lap Street Stock event and Twin 15
Lappers for the Stadium Stocks. It will be $2.00 Ladies Night.
