Frontstretch’s Truck Series content is presented by American Trucks

ThorSport Racing’s shop in Sandusky, Ohio was gutted early Monday morning by a fire. Video taken from the scene shows flames shooting through the roof of the 10,000 square foot facility. According to the Sandusky Register, “multiple fire departments were called to the scene”

As of 7:30 a.m. ET, NBC Sports reported that a Perkins Township Fire Department official had few details as it was still an ongoing investigation.

The team issued the following statement at 8 a.m. ET.

Shortly after midnight on Monday morning, a fire broke out in the basement of the ThorSport Racing shop, located in Sandusky, Ohio. At this time, we can confirm that no one was injured. We are currently working with the fire department and local officials to contain the blaze, and assess the damage. We do not expect this to impact the team’s competition schedule. Our next race is at Iowa Speedway in Newton on Saturday, June 18. Further details will be forthcoming.

ThorSport, owned by Duke and Rhonda Thorson, is the longest tenured team in the Camping World Truck Series. It currently fields four full-time trucks for rookies Rico Abreu and Ben Rhodes, sophomore driver Cameron Hayley and two-time champion Matt Crafton.
