Race Weekend Central

Entry List: 2015 Quaker State 400 at Kentucky

After a wild Sunday night in Daytona, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is setting their sights on Sparta, Kentucky for another weekend of night racing.

NASCAR released the entry list for the July 11 Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts at Kentucky Speedway earlier today (July 6). The entry list includes 46 entrants, meaning three will fail to make Saturday’s show.

Fresh off of a disappointing DNQ at Daytona, both Ryan Blaney and Michael McDowell are among the Kentucky entrants. McDowell, piloting the No. 95 Thrivent Financial Ford, is high enough in owners points to make Saturday’s race if qualifying is cancelled. Blaney, on the other hand, is one of the three drivers hoping to get some sort of on-track time in to qualify on speed, joining Jeff Green and Brendan Gaughan.

Fresh off of his death-defying crash on the last lap of the Coke Zero 400, Austin Dillon is expected to jump back behind the wheel of his No. 3 Dow – Styrofoam Chevrolet. Dillon, 25, crossed the finish line in seventh at the 2.5-mile Florida oval before taking his frightening ride.

ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards veteran Will Kimmel will attempt to make his NSCS debut on Saturday, piloting the No. 32 Corvetteparts.net Chevrolet for Go Green Racing. The Sellersburg, Indiana native has six starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, with a best finish of 22nd at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2014.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will return to action at Kentucky Speedway on Wednesday, July 8, for a four-hour test session from 3-5 p.m. ET and 6-8 p.m. ET. The field will return on Friday for two practice sessions, followed by Coors Light Pole Qualifying at 5:45 p.m. ET. Coverage for Saturday’s Quaker State 400 Presented by Advance Auto Parts will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.
