NASCAR Penalizes Derek White’s No. 40 Post-Talladega

NASCAR penalized the No. 40 Xfinity Series team on Wednesday following an infraction at last weekend’s race at Talladega Superspeedway.

Team owner Derek White, who also drives the No. 40 Dodge Challenger, was given a P3 penalty for issues stemming from inspection. According to the NASCAR PR release, White’s car had issues with improperly securing ballast to the car.

White was docked 15 owner and driver points for the infraction. He finished 26th in the race and is currently 30th in Xfinity Series driver points.

Crew chief Kevyn Rebolledo was also penalized, being placed on probation through Dec. 31.
