Nationwide Expands Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Sponsorship

Nationwide is on your side. In May, Nationwide Insurance joined Hendrick Motorsports to back Dale Earnhardt, Jr. as a part of three-year deal to serve as primary sponsor for 12 Sprint Cup races in 2015 and 13 each in 2016 and 2017. Having stepped away from series title sponsorship of the Nationwide Series in favor of individual team backing, the insurance company has now expanded its involvement with the No. 88 team.

On Friday morning, it was announced Nationwide had increased its primary sponsorship of Earnhardt, Jr.’s No. 88 Chevrolet to 21 races per season from 2015 through 2017.

“We’re thrilled to be deepening our partnership with the Hendrick Motorsports team,” said Matt Jauchius, chief marketing officer at Nationwide. “We look forward to seeing Nationwide on the No. 88 for NASCAR’s biggest races over the next three seasons.”

Nationwide will also adorn the No. 88 Chevrolet in Saturday night’s Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond International Raceway.

“I know the people at Nationwide extremely well and truly appreciate how invested they are in our team and our sport,” Earnhardt, Jr. said in a team release. “It’s extremely gratifying that they recognize so much value in the partnership and want to do more. Having this kind of support and seeing so many positive things happening around the team feels really good.”

In 530 career starts, Earnhardt, Jr. boasts 22 wins, 126 top 5s and 220 top 10s.
