Brady Bacon had this one circled on his calendar.

When the Broken Arrow, Okla., ace decided to return to Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speed Week, he couldn’t wait to get to Path Valley Speedway Park. The tight quarter-mile track was right in his wheelhouse.

Bacon has seen the place. He competed in a micro sprint at the Spring Run facility, and it was as close to neutral ground as he was going to get against the central Pennsylvania regulars.

From there, talent took over.

The USAC wingless specialist looked at home. He defeated drivers that run more winged races in one season than Bacon has in his career, capturing the 40-lap Sprint Car main and earning a $6,000 payday.

“Guys like Danny Dietrich, Lance Dewease, Lucas Wolfe, Greg Hodnett, they are tough,” Bacon said. “These guys have won more than I have run in these things.

“The fans are so great in Pennsylvania. This is amazing. I’m just glad to be able to get a win.”

It was a bit of a struggle early for the invader.
