Southwest Racing Specialties & Performance is back in the saddle for a second season as title sponsor of the Southern SportMod portion of the Texas Lone Star Series.
The Hobbs, N.M., builder, owned by long-time IMCA Modified driver Brian Flowers, provides the $1,000 point fund to be paid to top 10 drivers in final standings for the tour.
Drivers must display two Southwest decals on their race car to be eligible for point fund shares.
The series is at Texas Thunder Speedway in Killeen tomorrow and Grayson County Speedway in Bells on July 8 before concluding Sept. 30 at 85 Speedway in Ennis.
Sid Kiphen has won two of the first four events. Dean Abbey and, most recently, Johnny Torres also own checkers thus far.
In addition to chassis assembly, Southwest Racing Specialties does fabrication, repair and engine work and retails high performance parts. Information about those service and parts is available by calling 575 393-7223 and at the www.southwestracingservices.com website.
“SRS&P has been associated with our Southern SportMod division since this partnership began and we continue that affiliation with the popular Lone Star Series in 2012,” commented IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “This series is great for the racers in Texas and New Mexico and Southwest is a big part in helping that to continue.”
